Steps to Take So You Can Graduate and Get A Job

1. Know What You Want To Do

graduate 2

Before you can sell yourself to others, you need to be able to sell yourself to yourself. Know what you want to do, and even if that doesn’t come right away don’t worry. Before you can accomplish the other things on this list though you need to have some type of idea of what you want to do.

2. Brand Yourself

graduate 3

This doesn’t mean creating a persona of who you are professionally, BE YOURSELF. This has everything to do with your Facebook, Twitter and Instagram accounts, and if you don’t have them have no fear, depending on the industry you want to get into they are not necessarily mandatory. If you do have them though, be careful what you post and remember, you don’t need to post everything!

Quick Tip: Go through all your social media accounts now and delete or modify anything that could make a future employer question anything about you.

3. Get  a Good Headshot

graduate 4

If you do have any social media accounts and there is a slight chance your future employer looking at it you’ll want a headshot. This is as simple as asking someone you know to take a good picture of you or just simply finding someone to take a real headshot for you. Whatever you do, don’t let your latest #selfie be the first thing your future employer sees.

4.    Take Opportunities

Though it may not always seem like there are tons of opportunity out there, THERE ARE. Even things as simple as volunteering when a professor needs extra help will get you  noticed and can help you in the long run if a teacher has an opportunity they can think to you immediately instead of giving it to everyone.

5. Never Give Up

It’s as simple as saying as discouraging as finding a job may be, once you get it you’ll be as happy as a clam. Never forget YOU CAN DO IT!
