In the midst of a publicity wave after revealing her relationship with Tesla CEO Elon Musk to the world at the MET Gala, Canadian artist Grimes has released snippets to a pair of new tracks from what is presumed to be an upcoming album.

Grimes has teased, and un-teased the release of a new album over the past little while, citing issues with her current record label. In an Instagram post that has since been deleted, she wrote “welp no music andy time soon after all… music industry is trash” earlier this year. Then last month she released a working track list

This new release will be the first for electro-pop musician since releasing her Polaris Music Prize short-listed album Art Angels in 2015. Along with working on new music, Grimes has kept herself busy in the time since the release of Art Angels with touring, producing music videos, and collaborating with other artists like Janelle Monáe and the K-Pop group yyxy (LOONA).

The artist released short videos on Twitter earlier this week featuring snippets of the two upcoming tracks “4 a.m.” and “Adore U.”

Prefacing the Tweets with a warning about sound quality due to it being recorded on her phone she described “Adore U” as a “cheesy love song” that she doesn’t like “but everyone else likes” further explaining that she made the instrumental with her “new mellotron.”

She describes “4 a.m.” as an “ethernal chav jam that’s like… a cyberpunk interpretation of the bajirao mastani movie” urging fans to watch it if they haven’t.

You can listen to the snippet for “4 a.m.” here and “Adore U” here.
