Toronto’s 5th annual D.I.Y Punk festival Not Dead Yet is back and this year it promises to be bigger than ever.  Just like years prior NDY is showcasing all of the best independent punk, hardcore and post punk from all over North America. Keeping true to its original ideas of “see the bands that you want, skip the ones you don’t”, the festival doesn’t require you to have a wrist band to attend any of the shows. This may be a strategic move on behalf of the promoters because this year the festival extends itself to multiple venues with over 50 bands playing. If this sounds a little overwhelming, don’t worry! NDY’s tumblr account, which is the official website for the festival, has detailed show times, venues and prices for every event. Music isn’t going to be the only thing happening this year. Toronto store FAITH/VOID has partnered up do host an art show and a record swap. If that isn’t enough to get you going then how about a discussion on documentation of punk in the 2010’s? Damian Abraham, lead singer of the Toronto Polaris prize winning band F’ed Up, will be hosting the round table at Parts and Labor.  Not Dead Yet begin on October 21st and runs until the 25th.
