It’s time to trade in the Canada Goose jackets for tank tops and flip flops. The warm summer weather means beach days and outdoor trails.
The hottest months are the happiest months, but the weather does make us lazy. Here are five hacks to keep your summer cooler and make your life easier.
1. Water bottle ice cube trick
A refreshing gulp of cold water is always needed to boost your energy on a hot summer run. Fill your water bottle half way with water and toss it in the freezer before using it. Once a giant ice cube is formed, fill up your water bottle with your drink of choice and you’re guaranteed to quench your thirst.
2. Aloe vera cube relief
It’s always important to protect your skin when spending the day in the sun. That nasty sun burn can be quickly relieved by using this simple hack. Mix aloe vera and water and pour it into an ice cube tray. Toss it in the freezer and create your own aloe vera ice cube. Rub the aloe cube on your sun burn to cool it down and give you instant relief.
3. A safe haven for your valuables
Going to the beach is a great way to celebrate the summer and spend time with friends and family. FOMO (fear of missing out) always kicks in when you’re the one that has to stay back to watch the purses and beach bags while everybody else is diving into the lake. A simple way to avoid this: hide your valuables in an obvious place. Cut off the lid of a sunscreen bottle using an Exacto knife. This is a great place to store your keys, money and cell phone when you’re spending time away from the beach towel.
4. Sun tan tattoo trick
If you want to see how bronze you get this summer, follow this easy hack. Use sunscreen to draw a design on your body before lying in the sun. When you can’t handle the heat any longer, wipe your design off and voila! In order to make your new tattoo even more prominent, trace out the design every time you lie in the sun.
5. Keep your steering wheel cool
If you’re in a rush to meet your friends for a patio lunch this summer, the last thing you want to do is hop into a hot car. Instead of burning your hands on the steering wheel, try turning the wheel as far as you can to one side. When it’s time to take it out for a spin, the top of the wheel will be cool for you to be able to drive comfortably.
