Move over Shania Twain, Canadian country has a new superstar!

When most people think of country music, they rarely associate it with Canada. Most people automatically think of Shania Twain as one of Canada’s few country artists, but in recent years, there has been an influx in the number of Canadian Country artists to hit our airwaves.

A small town girl from Langenburg, Saskatchewan, Jess Moskaluke has become a household name in country music. She began showcasing her musical talents in 2010 by posting covers of popular songs on YouTube. Her online presence grew, and as a result, Jess was able to garner the attention of not only country fans, but her online peers. In 2011, she was invited to join YouTube star, Tyler Ward, on his North American tour. In that same year, she was the 2011 CCMA New Artist Showcase Winner, and signed with MDM Recordings Inc.

Her debut album, Light Up the Night, was released in 2014, and it featured the Gold-certified single, Cheap Wine and Cigarettes. The only other artist to achieve gold single status as a female Canadian country artist is Shania Twain. It was the most added song on Country music radio during its first week, and debuted at number 39 on the Billboard Canada Country chart. The local success of the song resulted in it being picked up by Sirius XM’s The Highway, which can be heard across Canada and the United States.

Jess’s rise to success has earned her back-to-back to Female Artist of the Year Awards at the CCMAs in 2014 and 2015, and in doing so, has made history by being the first resident of Saskatchewan to win the award. The past year, she was touring with artists like Chad Brownlee, Dean Brody and Paul Brandt, and was on hand to sing the national anthem for the Toronto Blue Jays on Country Day.

Kiss Me Quiet is the first single off of her most recent EP, and it hit some noteworthy career milestones. The single cracked the top 10 at Canadian country radio, and Jess became the top charting Canadian artist on the BDS and Mediabase country radio charts. And she keeps on dominating! On Canadian country radio in 2015, Jess became the most played female Canadian artist, and the number two most played solo female artist only behind Carrie Underwood.

This summer will be a busy one for Jess! She has several performances scheduled across Canada, including a stop in Burlington, Ontario at the Sound of Music Festival. If you want a festival focused on country music, then you can see her perform in London, Ontario at Trackside Music Fest.

Jess Moskaluke is turning heads in the country music industry, and she’s only twenty-five years old! Her songs are so musically diverse, from upbeat pop style songs like Kiss Me Quiet to power ballads like Take Me Home, she will get you to feel every emotion possible.

You can find her music on iTunes, and if you want more information on her upcoming projects and tour dates, check out her website (www.jessmoskaluke.com) and follow her on Twitter (@jessmoskaluke).
