Cancelled Shows That Need To Make a Comeback

By Samantha Roman

You might have watched Season One of your favorite show only to find out that Season Two was unjustly cancelled. Let’s face it, the show might be good, but depending on the time slot, the actor’s commitments and funding, things can start to fall apart. On the plus side, many cancelled shows find life again on Netflix. Here are a few shows that you MUST WATCH. And if you’re listening, Netflix, please consider reviving the following shows because we miss them dearly.

VINYL

If you’re into The Rolling Stones, The Clash and The Sex Pistols, look no further than Vinyl on HBO. Richie Finestra is the owner of a failing record company who attempts to recapture the magic by going back to the fundamentals of rock music: Sex, Drugs and Rock ‘n Roll.

Vinyl does a fantastic job of giving the audience a gritty look into the music business and the birth of many new genres that took the world by storm in the 1970s. You’ll be drawn to the characters, costumes, and creative atmosphere that Mick Jagger helped produce. You feel as if you are part of the drama, and find yourself wanting to console Devon, the lonely housewife who must carve her own place in the world. Many elements of the show are inspired by real life events, with carefully curated add-ons to allow each character the opportunity to grow. Vinyl is truly one of a kind and a show you’ll quickly fall in love with. It is currently available for purchase at Best Buy, Amazon and HMV.

KIDNAPPED

An action thriller fueled by finding out who kidnapped the son of a wealthy family in New York City. An Ex-FBI Operative, Knapp (played by Jeremy Sisto), must save the boy without compromising the high profile stakes. Strangely enough, this show did have high praise but never found the right time slot to be fully appreciated. If you like the type of character who follows their own instincts against the advice of their superiors, you’ll find Knapp to be the sort that you can’t take your eyes off of. Kidnapped is a compelling series that is a must-watch for anyone enticed by crime and psychology.

GIRLFRIENDS

(Source : TheTopTea.com)

Back in 2007, Girlfriends was the longest running live action sitcom on network television. The show moved networks and had trouble staying on air, but a spin off called the “The Game” went on to major success and captivated audiences everywhere. But there is no denying that Girlfriends drew you in with their hilarity and commentary on being an African American woman trying to make her way in the world. A smart, sexy comedy that was also serious about life after heartbreak and disappointment. Available for streaming on Crackle or pick up a box set from Best Buy.
